Description

The compressed cake displays dark brown to black leaves with good compression density. Some golden tips appear on the surface among the darker material. Breaking the cake releases glutinous rice sweetness mixed with earthy mushroom aromas and woody undertones.

The liquor brews to a deep reddish-brown color, dark but clear in the cup. First infusion opens with smooth glutinous rice sweetness coating the mouth. Second steep brings forward earthy mushroom notes that blend with the sticky rice character. Brown sugar sweetness develops in mid-steeps while maintaining the smooth texture. The body stays thick and warming throughout multiple infusions. Later brews keep the core sweetness with more pronounced wood and earth notes.

From Bulang Mountain in Menghai County, Xishuangbanna, produced for the Year of the Snake zodiac release. Suits ripened pu-erh drinkers who enjoy prominent glutinous rice character and smooth, sweet profiles.
