Like drinking forest floor tea with dark chocolate mixed in. Sweet wood and mushroom umami with a creamy texture throughout.
Small compressed cubes of dark reddish-brown leaves, tightly packed and dense. The surface shows a mix of leaf grades from whole to broken. Earthy, musty aroma dominates with undertones of damp wood and forest floor.
The cubes break apart easily for brewing, producing deep reddish-brown liquor. First steeps are smooth and rich with strong earthy character. Dark chocolate notes emerge mid-palate alongside woody sweetness. Umami depth builds with each infusion, adding savory mushroom qualities. Body is full and thick, coating the mouth. Later steeps maintain richness while becoming slightly sweeter and less earthy.
Produced in Simao (Pu'er City), Yunnan Province, using traditional pile-fermentation methods. Suitable for those who enjoy earthy, aged flavors and prefer smooth, mellow pu-erh over astringent varieties.
